Most everyone uses toothpaste to brush their teeth several times a day, but most people probably don’t realize how many things you really can use that one tube of toothpaste for. Check these out!

Clean with Toothpaste

  1. The plate of your clothes iron. The toothpaste will help clean off the scorched marks and marks made by melted fabric as well as watermarks and calcium deposits in the grooves. You can rub toothpaste on the bottom of the cold iron, let it set a few minutes, and wipe it away. You can heat the iron and rub over an old cloth to complete cleaning.
  2. Jewelry. Brush your jewelry with an old toothbrush and toothpaste and rinse thoroughly. Make sure that valuable jewelry is professionally cleaned, however.
  3. Polish chrome. Rub the toothpaste onto chrome, rinse, and buff with a soft cloth.
  4. Walls. If you have crayon marks on the walls, you can rub toothpaste on the marks and wipe it away with warm water.
  5. Shoes. You can use toothpaste to clean shoes, especially white shoes, clogs, and plastic and leather. Toothpaste is a great tool to use to clean the bottom and sides of your sneakers. Rub and rinse with a damp towel.
  6. Scratches on leather. You can use toothpaste to remove scratches on leather. Use a dab of toothpaste and a soft cloth to rub it clean. Wipe with a damp cloth, and the scuffs will disappear.
  7. Furniture. You can remove watermarks from your furniture with a little toothpaste. Gently rub the watermark with toothpaste using a soft cloth, and wipe it off with a damp cloth. Let it dry and apply furniture polish.
  8. Piano keys. Rub on the toothpaste with an old toothbrush. Then wipe them with a damp cloth. This technique will work with both ivory keys and keys covered in plastic.
  9. Beach tar. You can use a little toothpaste and rub away the beach tar that might develop on your feet.

Deodorize with Toothpaste

  1. Sink and drain. Rub your toothpaste around the bowl of the sink and rinse. It will freshen the drain and prevent stale odor.
  2. Plastic bottles and boxes. When kept closed, they may start to smell badly. Brush them with a little toothpaste and let them sit for a few minutes. Rinse well.
  3. Onion and garlic smells. If you have onion or garlic odor on your hands, rub them with toothpaste and rinse in warm water.
  4. Freshen your car. Squeeze a little toothpaste on a paper towel and fold it up. Place underneath the seat of your car. When in the sun or heated, the toothpaste will release a minty fragrance to your vehicle. Replace as needed.

Beauty Tips

  1. Acne. Dab a little bit of non-whitening toothpaste on acne before bedtime. It will shrink it and dry it.
  2. Skin relief. Toothpaste is a great reliever for bee stings, bug bites, minor rashes, burns, and cold sores. Just dab a small amount on the irritated area for quick relief.
  3. Nails. You can rub toothpaste on fingernails and toenails with a nailbrush to keep them clean.

Other Miscellaneous Tips for Using Toothpaste

  1. Fog resistance. Rub on eyeglasses and goggles coating them with toothpaste and wiping clean with a damp cloth to make them fog resistant.
  2. Stain removal. Scrub toothpaste onto stained fabric to remove stain. Repeat as necessary. Works well for removing ink. This doesn’t work on all fabrics.
  3. Wall filler. Use white toothpaste as a filler for small pin and nail holes in your walls. This can also be used on white woodwork.
  4. Poster adhesive. You can hang posters on the wall without tape. Just dab a little bit of toothpaste on the corners of the poster a few places on the edge. For removal, just use a damp cloth to wipe it away.
