Friendship Tea |
|
Decorations: Decorate with teapots for centerpieces. Place wrapped boxes under them to give them height. Place tea light candles inside pretty china cups or float a single flower in a teacup. Flower petals scattered on the tabletop also add charm. Sometimes I take the lid off the teapot and place a candle in a holder inside the teapot. Food: Click Here For Friendship Tea Recipe Have a variety of flavors of hot teas and also flavored iced tea. Sugar cubes (these can be purchased with tiny flowers on top) Honey straws (available at gourmet food stores) Finger sandwiches of egg salad, chicken salad, cucumbers, etc. Just for fun trim the crusts and cut them out with cookie cutters. I have a teapot shaped cutter. I also like to use the miniature croissants. Variety of fruit Salads Pastries (These can even be purchased in bulk at Sam’s Club. They have wonderful cream puffs and éclairs.) To make flavored iced tea: Brew two regular tea bags with one flavored tea bag. Peach and blackberry are two favorites! Serve the food with style! Use tiered serving trays and pedestal dishes. Have tiny spoons for each teacup and beautiful table linens. Fun: Just for fun have each lady bring a teacup for exchange or just for use. It is unique to purchase one at an antiques store. Let each lady tell the story of her teacup. It isn’t necessary to have a special speaker at a friendship tea. Ask each guest to participate by describing the qualities of their best friend. Have a “tea-lightful” time!
