The Lily of the Valley is a beautiful and delicate plant with a stem covered in little bells hanging downward, and it is the official flower for the month of May. Folklore tells that nightingales won’t sing until the Lily of the Valley blooms each May. We all know the reference in the Bible to this lovely flower in the book of Solomon stating, “I am the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valley.” My suggestion is that you gift a friend with a small bouquet of this beautiful flower just to let them know you are thinking of them in these unusual times. What a lovely gesture of friendship! It’s the little things that speak loudly. Floral shops are still open even though many businesses are closed.
