Mother’s Apron |
|
This is a wonderful theme to use as it involves much sentiment. You will no doubt wipe a few tears when you hear the stories behind the aprons. |
||
Decorations: Aprons…….of course! If you have an area to hang things on the wall, you can hang aprons at all different angles. If you don’t have the wall area, use a room divider or lattice board to display aprons. Ask each lady to wear an apron. Give a prize to the most creative, the oldest, the prettiest, etc.
Favors: Purchase inexpensive aprons from the dollar store, or have them made. They are easy to make.
Games: The Apron GamePin kitchen or household items on an apron. Have someone put it on and walk around the room for a couple of minutes. Then have her go into another room and have the guests try to list as many things as they can remember seeing pinned on the apron. The person with the most wins and gets to keep the apron! Speaker: Ask several ladies to bring an apron that is very special to them, and have them share the reason it is special. Some may choose to bring their mother’s or grandmother’s apron, a wedding apron or a child’s apron. When we did this, it was so interesting. One was even brought from a foreign country. Aprons are becoming a thing of the past, so I am sure that everyone will enjoy the stories! |
