S.M.I.L.E.

Sunday Morning Interactive Learning Experience

This is an exciting and creative Sunday School program designed by Sis. Pam Spicer, pastor’s wife from Dubuque, Iowa. They have seen great results since beginning this program. Just this year they have had 157 first time visitors to S.M.I.L.E. We have outlined it below, but for more information, feel free to contact Sis. Spicer.

This is a rotation style of learning using four rooms for ages 5-11.

Room 1 – Lesson

Room 2 - Memory Verse & Prayer

Room 3 – Snack & Testimony

Room 4 – Craft or Activity

The children attend all four sessions every Sunday. The teachers rotate rooms once a week. If they are teaching the lesson, they will teach all the children; and then perhaps the next week that teacher will have all the children for the craft. The teachers also help to write the lessons. With this variety for the teachers, there is not a problem with teacher burnout.

Even the snack time is used to portray the lesson. They have endeavored to use all the senses in each lesson.

I was privileged to observe S.M.I.L.E. in action, and I can attest that it is an exciting program for children.
