He’s Coming Soon |

All of my life I have heard the preaching that Jesus is coming soon, and it is still deeply ingrained within me. It was a constant thought in my mind and no doubt was a major factor in keeping me in line with living a good Christian life. I vividly remember coming home from school one day and entering an empty house where my parents should have been. I anxiously went from room to room searching for them and began to become panicky when I could not find them. I called out to them with no reply. As my heart began to beat faster I looked in every room and frantically shouted for them in the downstairs all to no avail. Ultimately I went outside, and in the very back corner of our large yard, I found them working. A huge sigh of relief escaped my lips as I discovered that Jesus had not come back and left me behind. You might deliberate that this is not a suitable way to rear a child, but I happen to disagree. This teaching was so embedded in my heart that I will never escape it nor do I wish to ever forget. The reminder was forever before me of the consequences of misbehavior and also of the safety net provided by living righteously. I am eternally grateful. I still believe that Jesus is coming soon, and world events are evolving rapidly that concur with Biblical teaching and prophecy. Although I am not a prophecy scholar my assertion is emphasizing the importance of living a life that is always prepared for this great event. MATTHEW 24:44 clearly declares, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” I simply ask you today, ARE YOU READY? |
