Because of current world events and the pandemic, we have endured from the Corona Virus, many have indicated an unwelcome struggle with the emotion of fear. Fear can be debilitating and overwhelming and needs to be confronted and addressed. The scripture clearly states in I John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” We all know that the only perfect love is found in Christ Jesus. He is our Rock and Foundation, and we run to Him when fear invades our hearts and minds. As an old song declares, “When the earth all around me is sinking sand, On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, When I need a shelter, when I need a friend, I go to the Rock.” From the book Encouraging Prayers for Every Need, may I offer you this prayer: Please let this be a gentle reminder that God is ever present in time of need. Although fear can be an overwhelming and seemingly overpowering obstacle, “Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.” God’s power is greater than any fear you may face. Just remember to call on Him! A weapon does no good to the soldier who leaves it behind or does not pick it up and use it. We have a huge arsenal surrounding us to face any enemy we encounter, but it is our responsibility to take hold of that weapon and put it to work. Face your fear with the perfect love of our Lord Jesus! |
