Harvest of Blessings

Decorations:

Decorate tables with potted mums. Gather leaves from outdoors and scatter on the tables around the mums. (or use silk leaves) Place a votive candle (Yankee Pumpkin or Cinnamon Stick) on each side of the mums. Decorate entry with bales of hay, cornstalks and pumpkins. Simmering potpourri also creates wonderful ambiance.

Food:

Have crock pots filled with hot apple cider. Add mulling spices for a wonderful scent.

Soups and salads are great to serve, and of course, pumpkin pie for dessert!

Program:

Ask several ladies to be prepared to speak on a special blessing they have received during the year. The focus can be health, financial, career, or family. It is always good to rejoice with those who rejoice.

Door prize:

Give away the mums and pumpkins for prizes.

Pumpkin Roll

An indoor or outdoor race
This is a simple race but since pumpkins are not smooth balls and refuse to roll in nice straight lines, you will need plenty of wandering room!

You need two large pumpkins and two sturdy sticks. The racers, line up on the starting line with the pumpkins turned on their sides. On the signal, the racers use the stick to roll the pumpkins to the finish line. Younger players may want to use their hands instead of the stick. If you want to play this as teams, make it a relay race.

Thanksgiving Dinner
